This is my third eco-drive watch, the first a BM8180 has been very reliable for over seven years, never once having missed a beat. I wanted something for more formal occasions and this BM8240 looks just right: a discrete and formal face, not over-large. Ideally it would be a little thinner— shirt cuffs seem to have got closer of late. Like my other Citizen watches it was let down by the strap, in this case padded, 'crocodile' embossed, and far too shiny. It may be leather but made a good effort to look plastic. I replaced it with a plain matt-black leather band. As a present to myself it does not matter, but as a gift the packaging is excellent, a display box with a lid that can be fitted to the base as a pedestal, enclosed in an outer cube. Very pleased with the Citizen Eco-Drive watch sold by D C Leake, arrived quickly, well packed, and a very competitive price.
