Bremont Ambassadors

Posted by Nicole on 21st Feb 2020

Bremont have their fair share of ambassadors. An ambassador is a representative – usually a celebrity – who is paid to endorse or promote a companies’ products or services. They are important to brand’s as they offer many benefits. The most important benefits are the ability to boost the brand on social media, spread positive messages and influence consumer sales. What’s also handy about ambassadors is when they can be a spokesperson for your brand.

Bremont’s many ambassadors include the following: Tom Curry, England Rugby Player. When Curry made his senior bow in Argentina on the 2017 summer tour, he became the youngest player to start an international for England in 90 years. “As a player who continuously puts his body on the line in every game, Tom truly epitomises the term ‘Tested Beyond Endurance’”

Nims, the record-breaking climber. Nims is the first Gurkha to climb mount Everest while serving the British Military and he is the current holder of multiple world records for the fastest ascent of double and triple header mountains in the ‘higher than 8000m’ category. He is currently embarking on a record-breaking attempt to scale 14 of the world’s highest peaks. Nims wears the Supermarine S300 White. I love the look of this watch and how nicely its colours complement each other as well as the setting Nims would often be wearing it in.

Peter Hickman, the 2018 senior Isle of Man TT Winner. Hickman is credited with the fastest lap ever recorded! Peter wears ALT1-WT – “A Robust, British engineered, chronograph that accompanies him wherever he is racing around the globe.” Though not meant as a ‘basketball watch’ the basketball looking pattern creates a fine detail for this timepiece and really draws you into the face.

Brian Wood, former colour sergeant and author. Following his courageous leadership under enemy fire in Iraq, Brian was awarded the Military Cross, one of Britain’s highest awards for gallantry in combat. This was awarded by Her Majesty the Queen II. Brian is the author of his book ‘Double Crossed’, a book about the three battles in his life. Brian wears the Armed Forces Range – a collection which draws inspiration from the British Army’s World War II watches called ‘dirty dozen’.

Aldo Kane, record breaking extreme adventurer and former commando sniper. Also started his career in the Royal Marine Commandos and proceeded to become one of the youngest snipers in the UK armed forces. The most interesting place Kane has taken his Bremont is “to the very bottom of Nyiragongo volcano in the Democratic Republic of Congo.” He wears the Supermarine range – “A rugged diving watch by appearance, it’s durability enables it to perform above the waves just as it does below.” My favourite detail on this watch must be the very middle of the face which looks much like a speaker.

Ross Edgley, British adventurer and author. Edgley is best known for becoming the first person in history to swim all the way around Great Britain. He swam 2000 miles in 157 days. Ross wears the Supermarine S2000 – The watch will be tested by Ross as he prepares for more challenges this year. I have a personal soft spot for yellow features on a watch. Yellow is a very ‘in’ colour at the moment so I see this being that extra something that will be popular with the masses.

Jordan Wylie, adventurer and author. Jordan is perhaps best known for his incredible charity challenges! Jordan wears the Supermarine – “The S500 was named as a tribute to the brother’s love of the iconic British aircraft manufacturer responsible for the Supermarine S68 Schneider Trophy Seaplane and of course the incredible Supermarine Spitfire.

Mark Healey, professional waterman. Mark is also a big-wave surfer, award-winning spearfisherman, free-diver, photographer, filmmaker and part-time Hollywood Stuntman. The most interesting place Mark has taken his Bremont is “In the gills of a Yellowfin Tuna.” Not sure that’s where I’d want to take my watch… luckily his watch can handle the adventures he takes it on. Mark wears the Waterman – part of the proceeds of the sales of the Bremont Waterman will go towards the charity ‘Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii’.

Carey Lohrenz, the F-14 Tomcat Fighter Pilot. Carey is the first fully qualified female F-14 Tomcat Fighter Pilot in the U.S. Navy! Carey wears the MB11 – an anti-shock and automatic watch, offering a fresh and striking new look providing further choice to the classic collection.

Expedition 5, two men, the five biggest islands on earth, one world record. As two former Royal Marine Commandos, they are embarking on a world first expedition which has never been accomplished before. They are setting out to be the first humans to cross the planets 5 largest islands, unsupported. Expedition 5 raise funds for Help for Heroes and The Royal Marines Charity. They choose to wear Bremont’s S500, which is Bremont’s first marine watch.

Ben Saunders, the polar explorer. Ben is also a record-breaking long-distance skier, with four North Pole expeditions under his belt. Ben wears Endurance – a timepiece able to withstand the extreme climate conditions of the Antarctic continent due to being worn on the outside of Ben’s jacket to serve as a crucial navigational device with its GMT hand. The bright orange strap makes for a great addition to the bright colours often worn in snowy climates.

Sean Conway, extreme endurance adventurer. Conway is the first and only man in history to cycle, swim and run the length of Britain. Sean wears S2000 – a watch that was reengineered to withstand further depths of 2000m/6560ft. I see a lot of diver’s watches but I’m yet to see one with a design as different as this one. It’s wider, the bezel is narrower, and the indices are also larger, it’s nice to see those slight differences.

Leo Houlding, British climber and adventurer. Leo is one of Britain’s top climbers and among the best in the world. Leo wears the ALT1-B – “The design closely mirrors the watch Bremont delivered to elite B2 ‘Stealth Bomber’ Aircrew in 2012.”

John Romain, pilot and owner of the Aircraft Restoration Company. John’s company have restored some iconic and historically significant aircraft such as the Bristol Blenheim, Hawker Hurricane, P-51 Mustang and Supermarine Spitfires.

Alex Gregory MBE, Olympic gold medal winning rower. Alex is a double Olympic champion and multiple world champion. He has been a full member of the British men’s rowing squad since 2006 and was awarded the MBE in the 2013 New Year’s Honours List. The most interesting place Alex has taken his Bremont is “Up to the statue of Christ the redeemer in Rio de Janeiro the day after I won the Olympics. Fascinating, historic, world renowned location with views that take your breath away!” Alex wears the Solo – “an obvious choice for those wanting to enter the world of Bremont automatic chronometers.”

Olly Hicks, British Adventurer. Olly has produced 2 award-winning documentaries about his record-breaking ocean voyages. The same as Expedition 5, Olly wears the S500.

Class of ’45, men and machines: Legends across generations. Jim Tobul is the owner of the F4U-4 Corsair “Korean War Hero” and Scott Yoak is the owner of the P-51D Mustang “Quick Silver”.

Jake Meyer, world record breaking British Mountaineer. In 2005, at the age of 21, Jake achieved his dream of becoming the youngest man in the world to complete the seven summits, and the youngest Briton to climb Everest. Jake wears the S300 – a range that responds to a demand for a professional dive watch in a slightly smaller iteration.

Charley Boorman, actor and adventurer. Charley has appeared in Deliverance, On Edge, The Bunker and more. Charley wears the same watch as Sean, the S2000. The S2000 is built using Bremont’s unique Trip-Tick three-piece case construction.

Timmy Gambin, maritime archaeologist and explorer. Gambin has been involved in numerous collaborative research projects including the PaleoMed project with the CNRS. Timmy also wears the x3 popular S2000 amongst the ambassadors.

Bremont have picked some pretty impressive people to join forces with and I myself am delighted to learn about these incredible ambassadors’ journeys. I can only dream that one day I might achieve such dreams.
